How Much Does CO2 Laser Resurfacing Cost in Atlanta?

At Alcove, CO2 laser resurfacing is $1,500 per treatment, and that price includes the aftercare skincare you use while your skin heals. We include it because the weeks after a CO2 treatment matter as much as the treatment itself, and the right products are part of getting a good result.

What the price covers

  • A consultation first. Your provider reviews your skin, your history and the downtime you can take, and will tell you if CO2 is the wrong tool for you.
  • The treatment. Fractional CO2 resurfacing, with the depth and density set for your skin and your goals rather than chosen from a menu.
  • Your aftercare skincare. The products you use during healing are included in the $1,500.

Why CO2 costs more than lighter treatments

CO2 resurfacing reaches a depth in the dermis that topical treatments and superficial procedures cannot. It removes and remodels skin in one pass, and it does more for acne scarring, deep sun damage and etched lines than any single alternative. A meaningful result often comes from a small number of sessions rather than an open-ended series, which is part of the value: one demanding treatment instead of many mild ones.

If your concerns are texture and tone rather than scarring, CoolPeel may suit you better. It is $850, with recovery measured in days, and is planned as a series. We compare the two in CO2 Laser vs CoolPeel.

How to compare quotes

CO2 prices vary between practices, and the headline number does not always mean the same thing. When you compare, ask:

  • Is aftercare skincare included, or is it an extra purchase?
  • What device is being used, and at what depth and density?
  • What recovery does that plan imply? Several days of visible healing and weeks of redness is normal for a corrective treatment.
  • How is pigment risk managed? Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is the most common significant complication, particularly in deeper skin tones, and it is managed with appropriate settings, preparation and sun protection.

A treatment described as having no downtime is a lighter treatment, not a cheaper version of the same one.

Planning your budget and your calendar

Results continue to develop for months as collagen remodels, so the final assessment happens months after treatment, not weeks. Plan the recovery honestly, keep treated skin protected from the sun, and avoid scheduling treatment close to an event.

All sales are final. Your provider will confirm the plan and the price at your consultation before anything is booked.

Frequently asked questions

Is the aftercare really included in the $1,500?

Yes. The aftercare skincare you use while your skin heals is part of the price, because the weeks after treatment matter as much as the treatment itself.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually a small number, and sometimes one. Corrective settings need months between treatments because collagen keeps remodelling for that long, so scarring is often treated in stages and reassessed. If you would rather spread the effect out, CoolPeel ($850) is planned as a series instead.

How long do CO2 results last?

The correction itself is durable: resurfaced skin does not simply revert. What decides how long you keep it is sun protection and ongoing ageing, which is why sun protection is a condition of treatment rather than advice.

Why would my appointment be moved if I have a tan?

Treating skin with recently increased pigment, including self-tanner, raises the risk of dark patches afterward. A provider who reschedules you for this is doing the right thing. It is one reason we explain why fall is the best time to start.

Do I need antiviral medication?

Usually, yes, even if you have never had a cold sore. Resurfacing removes the skin barrier, and a cold sore virus many people carry without symptoms can reactivate across the treated area. Take the full course.

Can I have CO2 if I have taken isotretinoin (Accutane)?

Only with a decision from your prescribing clinician. Traditional guidance is to wait a long interval after finishing isotretinoin before any ablative resurfacing.

What should I ask before I book anywhere?

What device is being used, at what depth and density, and what recovery that plan implies. Also ask what preparation your skin type needs, what aftercare involves day by day, and what experience the provider has with your skin type.
